WHAT IS TROPIC THUNDER?

Tropic Thunder will focus on a terrorist-related WMD/radiological incident affecting the greater Miami community. Tropic Thunder is part of the Silent Thunder Exercise Series designed to foster collaboration among representatives from local, state, and federal agencies with a shared stake in ensuring a positive outcome.

OVERVIEW OF COURSE CONTENT

The Silent Thunder exercise series provides a no-fault, site-specific TTX where leaders from all responding and stakeholder organizations can exercise both their crisis and consequence management capabilities for a terrorist WMD incident.

If you are interested in attending, please register for Tropic Thunder prior to April 24, 2025 to be admitted to the exercise.

WMD / RADIATION EXERCISE OPPORTUNITY

University of Miami, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) are hosting a tabletop exercise (TTX) on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism entitled “Tropic Thunder” on May 1, 2025 from 0930-1630.
